However you refer to him, The Angry Video Game Nerd, AVGN, The Nerd, The Angry Nintendo Nerd or simply James Rolfe, this man is my hero!! If you ever have watched any of his videos then you know the allure. I first became aware of AVGN around 2007 when I stumbled across a video of him reviewing Friday the 13th the NES game (a horrible terrible game by the day). He hilariously articulated how I felt. Even if you weren’t a gamer you could feel where he was coming from.

To sum up what AVGN is all about I’ll let some of the lyrics of his opening theme song speak for me.

AVGN has tackled just about every shitty game their is. From Ghostbusters to Top Gun to Back to the Future he’s played them so that we wouldn’t have to. He’s a true hero. He deserves the same accolades as Superman or the Dark Knight, it’s only right that he would eventually make it to the big screen.

An AVGN movie was announced some time ago but it was only recently that I was felt it was official. A few weeks ago we were blessed with an official trailer. The film was being produced outside the studio system, entirely funded by fan donations. The film is inspired by the 1982 Atari game E.T., which if you have ever watched any AVGN video’s you know how much he despises this game. When Atari produced the game they rushed it to meet the deadline for the Christmas shopping season. It was a failure and millions of unsold game cartridges were buried in a desert landfill in New Mexico.

I still dont know what the official release date is going to be for this movie but I for can’t fucking wait. Im almost too excited. On the other hand, my expectations are so high I bound to be let down no matter how awesome this movie may turn out to be.
