X-Men Reimagined as a Wes Anderson film

In a timeline where X-Men: First Class never happened and the mutant-based franchise was left in a state of experimental free fall, we can totally imagine Wes Anderson coming in to save the day.

Welp, YouTuber Patrick Willems reimagined the franchise as if Anderson had indeed directed the film in this faux trailer for The Uncanny X-Men. The video perfectly spoof’s Anderson’s signatures of quirky dialogue, colorful wardrobe, and dollhouse-like sets. More specific film tropes include orange jumpsuits — a play on the jumpsuits in Bottle Rocket and The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou — as well as student activity montages a la Rushmore at Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters.

And yes, the trailer also features the kind of retro rock soundtrack that would fit right in to an Anderson movie.
