One of the best-reviewed films of the year (95% on Rotten Tomatoes) has also been bolstered by strong word of mouth with audiences coming in droves – exemplified by its recently strong box office performance. We’re, of course, talking about David Robert Mitchell’s surprise genre hit, It Follows.
In the film, emerging scream queen Maika Monroe stars as Jay, a 19-year-old who, after a seemingly innocent sexual encounter, finds herself plagued by strange visions and the unavoidable feeling that someone – or something – is following her.
IGN recently sat down with the young actress to cover a wide variety of topics. She discusses whether or not she’ll continue in the horror genre, her love for Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining, as well as her love for Batman (and her semi-aspirations to play Catwoman), and why sex equates to death in horror movies.
