When writer-director Wes Craven first imagined Freddy Krueger, the ideas bouncing around in his head were equally sick and clever. While sleeping, people are at their most vulnerable, making it nearly impossible to stop Krueger from offing whomever he pleases in gory, imaginative ways. Furthermore, nobody can stay awake forever, so, eventually, whether it’s after a week or two months or longer, you’re going to enter Freddy’s domain. And the outcome won’t be ideal.
Fast forward 20-plus years and Christopher Nolan presented us with his ultimate mind-melt known as Inception. The story of Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio), a thief who can enter the dreams of others and steal information that he sells to the highest bidder. For his final mission, Cobb recruits a team of experts to work alongside, but inevitably, things start going wrong and throws all their lives into danger.
With that, Vimeo user whoispablo has created a very cool mashup of scenes from the Nightmare On Elm Street franchise and Nolan’s mindbending sci-fi/mystery, creating a trailer that makes it look like Cobb is being sent into dreams to face off against Freddy. The mashup works incredibly well and the final product is a film that actually sounds like a great idea.
