As a kid growing up in the ‘90s I begged my grandparents to not cut off our HBO just so I could catch Tales From The Crypt every week. What’s not to love; gore, boobs, death and a bunch of mayhem. From time to time there are always rumors of a Tales From The Crypt reboot but I prefer to remember the heyday of this iconic show. Throughout the years our favorite Cryptkeeper had many celebrity cameos from Arnold Schwarzenegger, Tom Hanks and many others. But as a kid I never really cared about that, I cared about the gore and the hot chicks which The Cryptkeeper had in abundance.

The following list is just a few of the hottest women to make an appearance and YES the films are being included. There is a certain vampire who I would let drink my blood who I just couldn’t exclude. And I’m also aware of the fact that the word cameo may not be 100% accurate because these women starred in their respective episodes and films.

Lea Thompson
Season 1, Episode 4
Only Sin Deep (14 Jun. 1989)

RELATED: The Horrifying Deleted Timeline From ‘Back To The Future’

It’s difficult for me not to look at Lea Thompson and immediately think about that dreadful scene in Howard the Duck. SHE ALMOST HAD SEX WITH A DUCK!! But I digress, in this episode Thompson plays a prostitute who sells her beauty to some weird shop keeper. She quickly regrets the decision when she starts to turn into a hideous old lady. I can relate because I’m a superficial young man and I only want a part of the young & hot Back to the Future Lea.

Demi Moore
Season 2, Episode 1
Dead Right (21 Apr. 1990)

Demi Moore plays Cathy, a woman who wants to be rich (and who doesn’t)? She meets a fortune teller who tells her that she can become wealthy beyond her means when she meets a man who will inherit a boatload of money, and die violently immediately after. When she meets disgustingly overweight Charlie who tells her about his wealthy relatives, she promptly marries him. Things don’t exactly turn out the way she expects but damn was Charlie a lucky man to be temporarily married to this hottie, even if she was faking it every night.

Katey Sagal
Season 2, Episode 8
For Cryin’ Out Loud (22 May 1990)

Best known as Peggy Bundy, Kath Sagal plays a greedy banker who tries to extort money from an even greedier rock promoter. After the aforementioned promoter tries to steal a bunch of money raised at a benefit concert Sagal show up in all leather and at first tries to seduce the thieving promoter before she reveals her true intentions. She is immediately killed but damn did she look good as she got stuffed into a drum container.

Jada Pinkett Smith
Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight (1995)

In the first foray into feature filmmaking Tales From The Crypt Presents: Demon Knight is probably the best of the series and lets ignore the facts that there was only three movies. Jada plays Jeryline a convict on work release at a rundown motel when a drifter pops up and Billy Zane summons a bunch of demons and a bunch of wild s*** ensues.

Angie Everhart
Bordello Of Blood (1996)

Everhart plays Lilith in the second Tales From The Crypt film. Lilith plays the head of the vampires in this undead boob extravaganza. The film is filled with vampire prostitutes and nakedness. Too bad Angie never gets topless, but she is still the hottest thing in the film.

Teri Hatcher
Season 2, Episode 6
The Thing from the Grave (8 May 1990)

Before she was a desperate housewife and even before she was Superman’s girlfriend Teri Hatcher was being sexy as hell on our favorite show. Hatcher played Stacey, a model with an agent/boyfriend named Mitch who is a complete a-hole. She quickly and scandalously finds refuge with her photographer friend Cates. Well the boyfriend isn’t having any of this and promptly ties her to the bed to ensure that she doesn’t go anywhere. We can’t blame him for this course of action, if you had a girl this hot what wouldn’t you do? Not that I condone kidnapping but she’s pretty hot! Also, there is some murder and rising from the grave going on.

Don’t deny the fact that you are a big movie fan! Well, if you were not, you wouldn’t be reading this article right now. We all like different movie genres, different actors and directors, but the only thing we all have in common is our love of cinematography. We watch movies because of their interesting and exciting plots, visual and sound effects, action and special effects. But we can’t also ignore the fact that actors’ performances play their role as well.

Sometimes it happens that an actor’s performance impresses us so much, that we start associate it with a movie, and remember this movie only thanks to it. Some actors are real masters of their job, and they are able to make us gasp and believe into doing the impossible: they live by the role, and demonstrate the ability to be real masters of disguise. You watch a movie, and you don’t see an actor. You see the character!

Here they are: top 5 most epic performances the audience will always remember. They are deservedly called the best performances ever. You may disagree with this list of course: comments are always welcome.

#5 Kathy Bates (Misery)

We all heard of Stephen King’s “Misery”. The movie of the same name has shown Annie Wilkes with all her dominance and other psychological problems to the audience from the very different point of view, thanks to the brilliant actress Kathy Bates. Her performance was so realistic and profound, that many viewers still hate her with every fiber.

#4 Jack Nicholson (The Shining)

Here is one more interpretation of Stephen King’s book. Jack Nickolson is a very talented and charismatic actor of course, and we still don’t understand why he didn’t get an Oscar for this performance of Jack Torrence, an alcoholic who suffers from depression and a real insanity from isolation. Nicholson has made his character a real enigma for the audience: we feel both hatred and sorrow while watching this magnificent performance. Moreover, it can be deservedly called the scariest performance ever seen in movies.

#3 Leonardo DiCaprio (Django Unchained)

Leo has proved the fact of being one of the most talented and brilliant Hollywood actors today. And it’s really strange, that he didn’t even get the Oscar nomination for his magnificent performance in Quentin Tarantino’s “Django Unchained”. His Calvin Candie appeared to be a really cruel and ruthless racist, the owner of plantations. We really hope DiCaprio will get his Oscar next year for his Jay Gatsby (The Great Gatsby), because his every performance becomes better and better – a great example of an actor who develops his talent all the time.

#2 Heath Ledger (The Dark Knight)

RELATED: Who Is The Richest Superhero Of All Time

Who doesn’t know The Joker? Many actors tried to perform this mysterious villain-philosopher (and Jack Nicholson, mentioned above, was not an exception here), but only Heath Ledger was able to feel the Joker’s nature in full. Probably, it was too much even… Some call this performance the reason of Ledger’s suicide, because of the fact he dived too deep into the role. Anyway, it was a really deserved post-modern Oscar, as Ledger’s Joker has become a symbol of “The Dark Knight”: Batman would be nothing without such a villain for sure.

#1 Anthony Hopkins (The Silence of the Lambs)

This cannibal has been performed by many actors, but only Hopkins was able to make it remembered by several generations of viewers. His calm but shiny eyes pierced into your soul and made you stumble at once; it was such an impression that Hannibal Lecter was going to have you for lunch. A brilliant psychiatrist, he got into people’s heads and dominated them with the help of their own fears.

Contrary to popular opinion The Matrix Reloaded is an extremely underrated sci-fi movie. The original Matrix is an undeniable classic but the sequels get a pretty bad rep. I’ll admit that Matrix Revolution couldn’t quite live up to the expectations its predecessors set but the second film isn’t as bad as you remember.

As far as action sequences go one scene in particular stands out. After meeting with the Oracle Neo finds himself in a battle with endless versions of Agent Smith. Despite all the CGI and outrageous high-flying things that aren’t physically possible the most unrealistic thing is the fact that nobody ever looses their damn sunglasses.

If you’re a fan of the horror genre it must suck to be a new parent. You’re basically condemned to at least a few years of The Disney Chanel and G-rated kid films. Don’t get us wrong we love our kids but that shouldn’t take anything away from our love of gore and mayhem.

There is a solution to this “problem” and that is introducing them to some iconic horror characters in a child-friendly way and of course I mean CARTOONS. Throughout the past few decades there have been a number of animated horror shows that a child could watch without being completely traumatized. So the next time you’re forced to watch another episode of SpongeBob please consider these alternatives.

The Addams Family

The original 1973 animated show focused more on the 1930s comic strip than on the popular show at the time. The family was featured on an episode of Scooby-Doo and Hanna-Barbera productions took this as a que to create this show. Did you know that a young Jodie Foster actually provided the voice for Pugsly Addams in a few of the spinoff shows?

20 years later after the success of the live-action film the family got another shot at the small screen. The show combined the best of the comics, TV show and the movie. Your son will surely gain a crush on Wednesday Addams and your daughter will admire her and that’s just awesome.

Beetlejuice

If you were a kid during the late ‘80s then you remember this immensely popular show well. This man needs no introduction but Ill offer one anyway. Im of course talking about Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetl…..wait a minute. Probably the most popular entry on this list, the show followed the friendship of Lydia Deetz and the awesomely demented Beetlejuice. I remember the show well but for some reason I can’t quite seem to remember why the pair are all of a sudden friends , after all they didn’t quite seem to get along in the theatrical version. The show lasted for four season and 94 episodes. Your little girl will no doubt look up to gothic icon Lydie and we all know that goth girls are awesome role models!

Tales From The Cryptkeeper

The laugh alone could give your kid nightmares but fret not, it’ll make him stronger and fiend for more. The show was a spin-off of the HBO r-rated Tales From The Crypt. The show offered a new spooky story every week just like its counterpart except you know, it was “family friendly”.

The great thing about this show is the fact that the Cryptkeeper is once again voiced by John Kassir (same as always). So it should be easy to get your kid familiar with the character and slowly start introducing him or her to some classic episodes from the HBO version.

Toxic Crusaders

This show was sadly short lived; airing briefly during the early ‘90s. It was weird to even think of the Toxic Avenger as a show for children but that’s exactly what this show did as Toxie tackled real life environmentally issues.

The Toxic Avenger has seen many weird incarnations in the form of toys, video games and even a apparent reboot. This show is truly a hidden gem that your kid should enjoy; say no to Captain Planet and say yes to Toxie.

The Real Ghostbusters

Probably the most successful entry on this list The Real Ghostbusters found success with the show and tons of tie-in merchandise. Any kid during the late ‘80s or early ‘90s than you had at least one Ghostbusters toys in their house. The two movies weren’t the only thing responsible for all that success.

The show first premiered in 1984 and ran for a ridiculous seven seasons with 147 episodes. With such a strong run, you’ll have plenty to keep your kid wanting more. The show also focused on the ghost Slimer who soon became associated the most with the show. Your kids will love it; trust us.

So there you are a few shows that will introduce your children to ghosts, ghouls, psychos and the undead. You’ll soon be introducing them to the Krueger’s and Voorhees in no time. What are some of your memories of these shows?
